SUPPORTERS and players were reunited at Jenner Park on Sunday, as a host of favourites returned to pay tribute to one of Barry Town's greatest ever.

The Gary Lloyd Testimonial Match between a Barry Town Legends XI and a Welsh Premier League XI proved a celebratory occasion, with a guard of honour for the decorated defender preceding a hatful of goals and nostalgic fun.

Among those leading the way for Gary Barnett's 22-man squad were 90s standouts Darren Ryan, Danny Carter and Craig Evans, while long-time supporters were thrilled to see former teammates Andrew York and Terry Evans link up in Barry's defence again.

With Tony Bird, Cohen Griffith, Richard Jones, Mike Flynn and more lending their support from off the field, the second half saw Paul Giles, Ian French, Dai Withers and others back in the famous yellow and blue shirt.

Fifteen years after forming part of the club's most recent Welsh Premier-winning squad, Jamie Moralee, Tom Ramasut and Leon Jeanne all found the scoresheet for Barry, while goalkeeper Richard Johnson helped keep the score down against a generally younger WPL XI.

Ultimately, a memorable day was enjoyed in honour of Lloyd's illustrious career at Barry and beyond and it continued on into the evening, as old stories were shared, friendships renewed and presentations made.
