WHAT a great week for the Villagers of Sully Bowls Club it was.

On Wednesday the friendly at Millwood ended in a very friendly draw.

The ground staff had spiked the green and flooded it that afternoon so all that could be done was to smile and enjoy the company of old friends and this we certainly did even giving a new bowler his first game having just joined us.

Saturday came and to travel to Splott Park and have to get a win had every one on edge but we should not have worried.

On a very poor surface Sully's better play shone through and from early on where always in control.

After 5 ends the villagers where 10 up and so it stayed through 10 ends.

At 15 ends it had gone to 28 up on three rinks.

The only rink to suffer B Curtis, B Danscombe, T Murphy, D Edwards went 3-15 down before pulling it back to lead by 2 18-16 loosing only on the last end chasing the points.

A Rees, E Pryer, J Best, D Hotchkiss, 25-13 A Smith, H Levick Jones, M Hardy, B Griffiths, 35-9, G John, R Titanium, A Thomas, D Curtis, 19-9.

So a 98-55 win and 12 points keeps the villagers in second place in the league with two games to play.

This week has a friendly away to Llantrisant and the penultimate league game away in Pontypridd.

Good luck Sully
