LAST Wednesday the Villagers travelled to Cowbridge for there last Munroe Cup game on the outdoor carpet.
This is a fast surface and always gives the home side a big advantage and this was reflected in the scores.
After 6 ends Cowbridge where 20 up but from then on Sully found the pace and gave them a game with the gap only going to 25 in the end.
Only winning rink for Sully were E Pryer, P Neale, J Best, T Murphy12-9.
The others fought back manfully but just missed out on points.
K Mahoney, G Neadley, A Thomas, D Curtis 16-20.
A Kelly, D Curtin, M Hardy, D Edwards 13-17.
R Fitzjohn, J Hubbard, H Thomas, H Levick Jones 6-26 finishing 47-72.
On Saturday bottom of the table Fairoak who play in Roath Park arrived four players short mostly because of city's first home game, so playing 6 bowls against 8 never really gave them a chance.
Three rinks where comfortable but the Dave Curtis rink left it to the last 2 ends to turn it around and win 16-15 , G John, R Fitzjohn, A Thomas, D Curtis 16-15, A Rees, E Pryer, H Thomas, J Best 26-7, B Curtis, B Dascombe, T Murphy, D Edwards 22-15, A Smith, H Levick Jones, M Hardy, B Griffiths 39-6 103-43.
The 14 points help the villagers push for promotion, now sitting in second place and three games to go their hopes are in their own control.
This week it is a friendly at Millwood on Wednesday and away on Saturday to St Albans in Splott.
