BARRY Athletic Cricket Youth Section recently held a successful All Stars presentation event with the 'Starry Mac' mascot in attendance.

It was held to celebrate the completion of an eight-week programme.

The evening was hosted at Barry Athletic Cricket Club with a number of VIPs in attendance including Cadwaladers, Bro Radio, Barry Round Table and Glamorgan cricket player, David Lloyd.

Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Barry Athletic Cricket Junior Section Coordinator Mark Ellis.

Mark has been assisted throughout the All Stars programme by a team of activators who help out with coaching during the sessions.

The evening began with All Stars fun and games with parent involvement. Bro Radio added to the entertainment with music, and with the sun scorching down on the ground everyone was in great spirits including Starry Mac, the All Stars mascot who was having lots of fun in the sun.

David from Glamorgan joined in the fun along with the families of the children present.

The evening finished with a huge game of musical statues and a presentation to all the children who had participated in the programme with medals, trophies and certificates awarded.

A special All Stars cake was made for the evening and Mark thanked everyone who had been involved in running the very successful programme.

A raffle made £145 towards the running costs of the club and the youth sections and the lucky recipients will be off to watch England play India in the T20 international this Friday at the Swalec Stadium.

The Barry Athletic Cricket youth section runs an U9s training night on Thursday evenings and many of the All Stars will be able to link into this to continue with their love of cricket stemming from the programme.
