PERRY, Rees, Jones and Johnson may sound like a respected firm of solicitors however they are in fact the winning team at Brynhill, in Saturdays Texas Scramble and far from respectable. A score of 59.3 was good enough to see off the competition in this fun golfing format.
Sunday saw the Bob Hope Trophy played for over a difficult, sun baked course that saw the standard scratch cranked up to 73, it didn’t deter Greg Mills who carded a fighting 68 to nick first place by one shot, from young prospect Ralph O’Carroll. Greg’s dedication and monastic lifestyle finally paying dividends. Meanwhile the Tennessee Cup scratch comp was won by pocket rocket Jamie Griffiths who scored a fine 74, a magnificent achievement for Barry’s own Jimmie Krankie lookalike.
This Sunday sees a return to four ball better ball format, with the Junior Gold Cup up for grabs. Just keep the ball in the stadium and you’ll be in the mix, as always at Brynhill Golf will be the real winner.
