After a few friendly encounters Cadoxton opened their season with a Carruthers match (Welsh Club Championship) against Windsor, Penarth.
Two new members, of Cadoxton, took part with their first sample of competitive bowls.
Andy Ralph assisted Kelvin Chedgzoy with a two shot, winning rink against Trevor Holmes.
Emlyn Davies was on Howard Craven’s rink which was narrowly defeated by three shots to Graham Carlisle. The 6th and 7th rink proved fatal when a ‘5’ and ‘4’ were conceded.
The third rink was skipped by Derek Jeffries which came out on top with an excellent success against the experienced Matthew Woodcock.
Unfortunately the other rink skipped by Jim Davies were unable to overcome the know-how of old hand Ken Mcleod, who ensured the, overall, team win with four ‘3’s a ‘4’ and a ‘5 included amongst their successful score.
