ROB Kemp fired Llantwit Major II to a Barry Cup upset on the weekend, as the Division Two side dumped Division One leaders Sully Sports out 1-0 to reach the semi-finals in their first season back in the Vale League.

Llantwit are joined by Premier Division leaders Barry Athletic, who dispatched Island Marine 4-1 with Dan Morgan bagging a hat-trick.

St Athan made the semi-finals as they edged Cowbridge Town 3-2 in a west Vale derby, veteran forward Craig Howells scoring what turned out to be the decisive goal.

Finally in the cup, FC Barry Belgrade advanced with a 4-2 win over Division One Cogan Coronation to complete the semi-final line up.

In league action, AFC Rhoose moved second in the Premier Division after a 2-2 draw with Penarth Town, which sees the latter move to fourth in the table.

In Division One, SP Billy closed the gap at the top to seven points behind Sully Sports, as Steven Coxan inspired them to a 4-1 win over Cadoxton Athletic, with Coxan grabbing a brace to give SP the win after they trailed early on.

Tynewydd edged out Cwm Talwg 1-0 to move fourth as Barry Saints went third with a 3-2 win over bottom side Cadoxton Imps.

In Division Two, Barry Albion thumped BRT Dynamos 3-0 with Nathan Harris, Kyle Day and Shane Taylor getting the Albion goals, and finally Island Marine B thrashed bottom of the league Glenbrook 5-0.

With cup action out of the way for the time being, a full league programme resumes next week.
