A GOOD result for Millwood Bowling Club after travelling down to Maesteg Welfare, to come away with a 20 shot win.
With another away game next week to Porthcawl in this Carruthers Cup, if Millwood win they will have to see who is next.
Millwood were two shots down after the first five ends at 14 – 16, but at the tenth end had taken the lead by 43 – 29 shots.
After the 15th end Millwood was still in command leading 60 – 47 and increasing the lead to finish by winning 88 shots to 68 for Maesteg Welfare.
It was pleasing to see that one of the “new” season’s bowlers took a part in the game. Hopefully the team will continue to win.
