DUE to increased membership Barry U3A has moved to larger premises for their monthly meetings.

At the group meeting on Monday, July 2, the speaker will be Sharon Mullins with a talk titled ‘Cosmeston – wild life and history’ starting at 2pm in the New Jerusalem Church Hall (opposite Barry Library).

In addition Barry U3A has various other groups – genealogy, poetry & prose, history of art and literature – that meet in Barry Library. The luncheon club meet at various locations on the third Friday of the month with the next luncheon on Friday, July 20 at the Sportsman’s Rest, Peterston Super Ely at 12.30pm.

If you enjoy walking, why not join the group for a walk on Friday, July 13, ‘Cosmeston & Old Cogan, meet at the Visitors Centre, Cosmeston Country Park.

Barry U3A also have occasional weekends away, and in May were in the Berwyn Mountains in N Wales, based in Llangollen, when members enjoyed walks on the Clwydian Way, Offas Dyke and the Pontycyllite Aqueduct.

New members are always welcome at this very friendly group, so why not come along to the next meeting on July 2.
