AFTER meeting residents, I would like to say just how much I concur with their desire to bring a new crossing to the Witchell area in Barry.
We desperately need to stop the parking problems outside the Barry Road Post Office and bring a much-needed crossing and traffic calming measures to make it safer here.
I have been campaigning for about three years to bring improved road safety at this location and even have collected a well supported petition.
It is a great pity that although Labour have controlled the Vale Council for the past five years they have ignored the wishes of residents.
It is on the list of priorities I have made for my area and I hope that the Vale council will finally do something and make this location safer for both motorists and pedestrians alike. How many more accidents and near-misses have to happen before something is finally done?
