WAS it really six years ago
we strolled here for the first time?
Then October sand swirled in our faces
as if we were drifting on clouds.
Now it’s a sunny Wednesday in July,
we’re no longer masters of the beach,
it seems diamonds sparkle on Whitmore Bay,
memories of this time will always stay.
Oh, all the conversations we’ve had over the years
walking from Whitmore Bay to Cold Knap Point,
laughing on the rocks, watching the channel.
How terribly I shall miss these days
but much more later when she has gone
and coming here alone will lose its magic
for I will just have her ghost beside me
with tears dropping...as salty as the sea.
