ASPIRING construction technicians and aircraft engineers from Barry Comprehensive School took part in the Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) Aero and Design and Construction Challenge recently.
Teams from schools across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan took part in the challenge at CAVC and at the International Centre for Aerospace Training (ICAT) at Rhoose.
Held to mark National Science and Engineering Week, the activities were designed to give school students experience of the various skills involved in the construction and engineering industries and to show the value of a vocational education.
Mr Fitzpatrick, head of design and technology, said: "All the pupils thoroughly enjoyed their challenges and were disappointed not to finish first.
"On behalf of the school, I would like to thank the staff at CAVC and ICAT for giving their time and resources to facilitate these challenges."
