POLICE in Barry are appealing for information after a young girl was followed and approached by a man on Milton Road.

The girl was not harmed in the incident, which happened at around 6pm last Wednesday, June 20.

The man is described as white with brown/grey hair, approximately 5ft 11in tall with brown eyes and a moustache. He was wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans that were ripped at both knees and had a gold, hooped earring in one ear.

He also had a distinctive tattoo of a skull on his left, upper forearm.

Detective Constable Tony Davies said: “Incidents of this nature are unusual and officers are trying to establish what happened on this occasion.

“We are appealing to the community for information as part of our investigation. If anyone noticed anything suspicious that day, or knows somebody matching the man’s description, we ask you to contact us.

“I also urge the male described to come forward and speak to the police.

“As always, we advise children and young people to be careful when out playing, and remember always to tell your parents and guardians where you are going,” he added.

“Don’t talk to strangers and stay with your friends.”
