VALE MP Alun Cairns recently presented two Vale-based charities with cheques, following his fundraising run in the Virgin London Marathon.
Mr Cairns donated £1600 as a result of sponsorship for his 26.2 mile run in April.
Kay Quinn, director of support charity Atal y Fro, said: "Alun is a strong supporter of our work in tackling domestic and sexual abuse across the Vale, so huge thanks for his valiant effort."
The MP also presented MIND in the Vale with a cheque for almost £800, after he made his race debut in London in April, completing the marathon in four hours and three minutes.
Caroline Chapman of MIND said: "We are extremely grateful to Alun for thinking of this charity in raising money and awareness for the work we do in supporting people with mental health problems in the Vale."
Mr Cairns said: "I'd like to thank everyone who was kind enough to sponsor me."
