A CHEMICAL manufacturer has celebrated 20 years in local business.
Cabot Carbon Limited, on Sully Moors Road, threw open its gates and invited an ice-cream van in to mark the special occasion.
Visitors - employees' families, Ty Hafan staff and VIP board members from Boston, USA - were also treated to site tours, children's entertainment, a barbecue and a birds-of-prey display.
Cabot Barry finance manager, Sharon Henshaw, said: "It's great to bring the kids and show them where mummy works. The ice-creams have gone down very well!"
Cabot Barry opened on June 18, 1992, and employs 90 people, as well as around 45 contractors. It has recently seen a £12m investment into the site including a major expansion project, and has signed a 10 year contract with neighbours Dow Corning.
Its product, fumed silica, is used in a wide range of products ranging from wind turbines to cat food."
