ON Friday, October 29, Bill Sheffield and Dave Saunders land at The Flying Club Cafe Bar, Rhoose, as part of their European tour which also includes Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg.

For years Bill was the vocalist with Atlanta's Eastside Blues Band, performing with the great B B King, John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, Big Joe Turner and Muddy Waters - who is godfather to Bill's daughter Honey Bee.

In 1974 he also toured and recorded with Roy Buchanan. For the the next two decades Bill played and sang in various bands across the USA but was drawn back to his childhood memories of the early blues masters Blind Willie Johnson, who was a major influence on his slide playing, Mississippi John Hurt and Blind Blake, in whose fingerpicking style he now plays guitar.

With nine CDs which encompass not only the blues but bluegrass, soul and a little gospel, Bill has toured the UK and Europe on many occasions and in various line-ups.

This time Dave Saunders of British blues band The Producers is on acoustic bass, who themselves have supported The Ray Charles Orchestra, Jeff Healey and B B King.

Tickets are £10 to include buffet. For further information telephone Mike on 07882 227537.
