Barry Town supremo Kevin Green is appealing to the people of Barry to come out in numbers to watch three home games in eight days, starting tomorrow (Friday) with the league match against Afan Lido at 7.30pm.

"We have the lowest prices in the whole of the country to watch a professional football team", said Kevin.

"At £5 for adults, £2 for children and OAPs, this represents superb value. We are welcoming children to come in for two games free of charge with a paying adult, to see Afan Lido and for Tuesday night's game against Aberystwyth. The third game a week Saturday is Caersws in the Welsh Cup, where all pay.

"These three games are vital to the club as Barry can go top of the table and make good progress in the Welsh Cup where a European place awaits the winner."

Mr Green is also appealing to regular Barry fans to invite a friend along. He emphasises that there is no fear of trouble at Jenner Park, which is well stewarded, and everybody has a comfortable seat. There is no clash with Cardiff City games for the Afan Lido or Aberystwyth matches.

Maybe you have not visited Jenner Park for some years, so why not come along and support your local team? The ground is well lit and comfortable and Barry play good entertaining football, so it is a great way to start the weekend.

Barry Town are active with Football in the Community and tomorrow night welcome Jenner Park, Holton Road and Cadoxton Schools with complimentary tickets. On Tuesday night Romilly and High Street schools will be guests.

"These three games are crucial for us and I would love to see large crowds for each match cheering the lads on", said Kevin. "Ideally we want six points and a safe passage into the last eight of the Welsh Cup. We are proud of the family atmosphere and set-up here at Jenner Park and the townsfolk of Barry can make such a difference to drive the players on."

One can only admire the commitment and ambition of Kevin Green. A man who has masterminded the success of Scarborough and Grantham, he wants to see Barry shake off the cobwebs and show what a force they can be.

Next week will see whether the people of Barry respond to the clarion call.
