BARRY Library is the first venue in the Vale of Glamorgan to host the community show 'Let Paul Robeson Sing!' following its success in Cardiff.

A smaller version of the show, financed by National Assembly Funds, will be free for all to see from February 1-28,

But a special launch event has been arranged, to promote the exhibition on Thursday, February 7, from 7.30pm.

The evening will include live music from local opera singer Anthony Stuart Lloyd and the Barry Male Voice Choir; an introductory talk to the show by Phil Cope, the Robeson Project director; refreshments and special guests. Tickets for the event will cost £1.50 per person and are available from Barry Library.

Numbers are limited and it is advisable to book.

As well as the exhibition and launch event, a participatory package is available for schools, colleges and other groups.

On offer are writing workshops run by Phil Cope and the poet and playwright Patrick Jones; publication and exhibition design workshops with Darren Dobbs; music composition and recording workshops with Andrew Griffiths to create an original CD; and the painting of a community mural co-ordinated by local artist, Philip Childs.
