BARRY police have seized a haul of Ecstasy tablets worth an estimated £30,000 on the streets.
As a result of an intelligence-led operation, three Barry people were arrested when officers from the Priority Policing Team swooped on Saturday, January 26.
One man was arrested at Cardiff railway station and a man and woman were held later in a raid on a Barry house.
Detective Inspector Tim Hubbard of Barry CID said funding from the Welsh Assembly and many hours of work by a large number of officers had made the operation possible. "We have removed this number of Ecstasy tablets destined for the streets of Barry. We have to remember that each and every tablet can kill."
PC Simon Rees, of Barry Crime Prevention, added: "There is no way of knowing what each tablet contains.
"The chemicals in these tablets are very often unknown.
"And they are potentially lethal."
