THE SECOND postponement of the Swansea v Barry Town FAW Premier Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening brought an angry response from Barry's player manager Kenny Brown.

"We've played in far worse conditions," argued Brown, naturally concerned about fitting this fixture in and once again seeing his pre-match preparations scuppered.

Referee Kevin Morris decided that whilst the Vetch Field was fit to start the match, he didn't think it would hold up for the entire game in the heavy rain.

So Barry must now set their sights on Friday night's game against Aberystwyth at Park Avenue, seeking to maintain a seven point lead at the top after Bangor's midweek home win over Oswestry. Bangor look to be the only team who could catch Barry, having two games in hand, so Friday night is crucial for the Town to get the points.

A coach has been laid on for the game, ring Neil White on 418382 to book.

Unless the Swansea game is rearranged for next Tuesday, Barry are fixtured at home to Llanelli with a 7.30pm kick off. The team will be led out by mascot Tim Johnson, who is raising money for charity in repeating his run-out at Port Talbot.

Barry Town are holding an ex-players re-union and all ex-Barry Town players are asked to ring Colin Churchill at the Barry Town offices on 735858 between 9am and 4pm.

Following the success of the club's Fun Day for the recent Welsh Cup tie, Barry Town are aiming to repeat the experiment for the final league home fixture of the season on Saturday, April 13.

This time, the club aim to expand the format and are looking to include entertainment of all kinds. To this end, they are asking any groups, clubs or societies who feel they can offer something to the day and would welcome the chance to perform in front of a crowd to contact them.

The club's chief executive Kevin Green said: "We are open to any suggestions, be it music, gymnastics, juggling or whatever." He continued: "We would be delighted to hear from anybody who feels they can make a contribution on the day."

Any groups or individuals requiring more details or offering their services, should contact the club direct on 01440 735858.
