BARRY and District News, is stepping in to give the town the biggest and brightest Easter Bonnet Parade ever.

The Vale's number one paid-for weekly has rushed in to save the Holton Road event, after hearing it could be in jeopardy.

For many years, the parade has been organised and funded by Woolworths in Holton Road. But as the competition keeps growing, the store just cannot cope with the number of children taking part.

Now, thanks to a unique partnership between the News, Woolworths and the Windsor Hotel, the Easter Bonnet Parade will be bigger and better.

On Thursday, March 28, at 4pm, we are inviting children to take their bonnets to the Windsor Hotel, where there will be a packet of crisps and a drink waiting for them. Then at 4.15pm, the judging will begin.

There are three categories, for children between 0 and 3 years, 4 to 7 years and 8 to 11 years. There will be three prizes per group, supplied by Woolworths.

And a Cadbury's Creme Egg will be given to every entrant wearing their bonnet and submitting an endorsed entry form at Woolworths by 5pm that day.

Don't forget to make yourself known to our photographer, who will be there in the afternoon to capture the moment. Reprints can be ordered from the Barry and District News Office, 156 Holton Road, at just £5 each.

See next week's News for your special entry coupon.
