I HELPED to arrange a Jubilee street party where races and games took place in Victoria Park (Barry) on Bank Holiday Monday.
At 10.30am a few volunteers took an hour to clear up six carrier bags of dog mess and broken glass (leaving us behind schedule).
With two hours to go before dozens of children would be playing on the area, we decided to put up signs for owners to keep their dogs away and explaining why.
So who then pulled up the signs and let their dog mess on the area?
I have a dog and use the park but always pick up after her.
After this experience I realise a much firmer stand needs to be taken with those people who let their dogs foul the park.
The park is actually for adults and children, not for dog owners to use as a toilet for their pets.
Thank goodness, (due to the morning's bad weather) the committee of Cadoxton Bowls pavilion lent us their facilities for the tea party, or we would have had children eating their tea amongst this mess.
