With reference to the future of the Knap pool. The Vale Council should have talks with the people who run the Pontypridd area.
They have this wonderful park in Pontypridd called 'The Jewel In The Crown'.
Since the pool closed I have taken a train to Pontypridd, and within five minutes walking distance you are at the park, with an open air pool which is kept to a very high standard.
It does not cost anything to go in, there are four lifeguards on duty at all times, relief lifeguards, a first aid post and a manager on site.
There is no parking around the area, but there are car parks nearby and its well worth the walk. The bus services and trains are within easy access.
How can they run a place like this at no cost, and why when the Vale can't be bothered with anything at a charge?
The Knap pool was a safe place for children, with its fences all around it is harder for a child to be abducted or lost.
If you have children under twelve it is well worth a visit to The 'Jewel In The Crown' in Pontypridd.
