POSSIBLY the most controversial and extreme show is the latest to go from MTV to the silver screen. Jackass: The Movie has promised to give audiences something that they've never seen before, but whether or not they were successful isn't yet certain!

There's no storyline to Jackass because it's quite simply not a real film.

It's the television show, just expanded into 90 minutes.

The thing I love about the film is the use of cinematography and new ideas in terms of narrative techniques.

Instead of fine art, what we have is Steve-O doing the tightrope above alligators, eating yellow snowcones and having fun with toy cars (you'll understand when you see it).

Jackass has quickly become a worldwide hit and so the 'film' has continued to make audiences laugh until it hurts.

The Jackass crew are not afraid of anything.

Put it this way, Johnny Knoxville rented a car, sprayed a number three on it, entered it for a demolition derby, and then took it back to the rental shop - that's one of Jackass - The Movie's mildest moments!

I'm not even going to bother describing anything else because not only will it probably spoil it for you, it probably wouldn't be allowed to be printed in this family newspaper anyway!

It's difficult to see why 'Mr Arthouse Cinema' Spike Jonze has put his time into this, this is far from art!

The thing is, Jackass, despite its certificate and immense warnings about not to copy the stunts, is aimed at teenagers to the late 20s.

I'm in that age group and enjoyed witnessing, in my opinion, some of cinema's finest moments.

Whether or not a sequel is planned remains a point of debate due to somebody copying some stunts, but hopefully the pain of Knoxville will return.
