THIS is an update on the possibility of a cow run in Cowbridge.
Upon receiving letters of protest from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and persons all over the UK, Vale of Glamorgan Councillor Jeffrey James stated in a letter to PETA that there will be no cow run during Cowbridge's 750th Anniversary Festival.
In its letter to Mrs Sue Cox, chairman of the trust for the 750th Anniversary Festival, PETA had recommended that Cowbridge host a humane 'Running of the Nudes' in which compassionate and fun-loving people would meet to run the streets in their birthday suits. PETA organises an annual Running of the Nudes in Pamplona every year to show the city that it does not need animals to attract tourists. PETA offered to show Cowbridge how the naked run is done during the festival.
