BARRY'S massive £5,000 Fix It campaign is hotting up.
For the second year running, the News and Round Table venture, aimed at giving cash to good causes, has proved hugely popular - and applications are flooding in.
Palmerston Primary School is just one of the applicants so far.
Teacher Bev Hopkins told the News: "We would love the Round Table to help us 'fix it' for some very special children.
"They are children with physical impairments and special education needs, who move about in wheelchairs, with walking frames or crutches.
"But at the end of last year, as a Christmas treat, we took these children to visit a soft play and ball pit area. It was truly delightful to see these lovely children enjoying themselves so much. It would be wonderful if the children were able to have a ball pit of their own, with some soft play equipment."
Send your applications to news editor Sue Vincent-Jones, telling her who you are and what you would like the money for. Include your full name, the name of your charity or group (if applicable), a contact address and daytime telephone number. Send it to the Barry and District News, 156 Holton Road, CF63 4TY, or e-mail barrynews@gwent-wales.co.uk
