I wish to complain about rural roads. In comparison with the Barruc ward in Barry, the road between Bonvilston and Llancarfan (known as the Llancarfan Lane) is from another period.

The metalling along this stretch is so badly scared with pot-holes, I am now afraid to take my children or the dog for a walk.

Vale of Glamorgan Council staff can be seen religiously back-filling these holes every six months, but the effect is short-lived. The workmen simply fill the 'puddles' with Tarmac, without emptying the water or mud.

How long will this process go on? When will the councillors who drag through policy about the rural Vale realise that roads outside Barry need to be re-planned?

Karl-James Langford, Liberal Democrat Baruc ward candidate, Bonvilston.
