My opinion of the Vale of Glamorgan Council fell at the beginning of January when they served an eviction notice on a member of my family.
My sister-in-law moved back from Cardiff to Barry after her mother died in 1998 to look after her elderly father in his council house.
At the start of this year, her father passed away also. Two days later, my sister-in-law and her husband received a letter giving them about a month to move out of the house she called home while she was growing up, and for the previous six years.
There was no decent period for her to get over her bereavement, and there was no consideration for the effort she and her husband had put into the house.
My sister-in-law and her husband are very shy people, which is why I haven't given their names or mine. And they are tackling this problem in their own way.
But I wanted to make public the callous disregard I feel our local authority seems to have for people. This is a shocking was to treat anyone, let alone a family who has just lost a loved one.
To the people in the council who are responsible for this decision: you should be ashamed of yourselves.
