Hilda Gill's School of Dancing scored yet another success on Tuesday and Wednesday when they presented Cinderella (KO Samuel) at the St Mary's Church Hall, Barry.

A report to the Barry housing management committee by the borough treasurer, CT McLeod, indicates that draft estimates for housing alone indicate a rate increase for 1954-55 of 1s 6.6d.

A warning that the improved standard of football at Jenner Park had only been made possible through the splendid work of the social committee and the supporters' club was given by Arthur Palser, chairman of the Barry Town directors.

On Tuesday week, A Camfield, of British Resin Products Ltd, addressed and demonstrated on 'plastics' to a packed audience of members of Barry No 1 branch OAP at the Methodist Schoolroom.

The Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council is to take positive steps to recover a large sum of £22,890 owed in rent arrears since 1975 by tenants who vacated council property and "skipped town" without leaving a forwarding address.

The provision of footpaths along St Bride's Way, Gibbonsdown, Barry, will be given priority in next year's capital estimates programme, a meeting of the Vale housing committee heard on Monday.

Members of the St Paul's Darby and Joan Club who left their firesides on Tuesday week were given an interesting talk by Allen Oliver, deputy director (legal) for the Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council.

On Monday week, The Jubilee Singers commenced their 1979 engagements by giving a concert to the residents of the Ty Dyfan Home for the Elderly.
