AIR Cadets and Staff from 2300 (St Athan) Squadron, had fun participating in the Macmillan Cancer Relief Swimathon, at Barry Leisure Centre.

The cadets swam more than 350 lengths within one hour, raising £400. The money raised will help support people living with cancer.

This is the fourth year in which the cadets have supported the Swimathon.

The Squadron Padre, Rev Malcolm Davies, was there to encourage the cadets throughout and thanked them for their efforts.

Cadet Michael Green was the Squadron's top fundraiser, collecting £127 by himself, for which he was thanked and congratulated by his commanding officer.

The cadets are encouraged to help and support their local community, giving of their time or to help fundraise. Throughout the year, the cadets will support The Royal Air Forces Association, Mencap, Royal British Legion and the Llantwit Major Round Table.
