A MAN drove in Barry when disqualified from driving while he had children in the car.
In November 2023, Ryan Edwards was caught at Morrisons in Barry driving an Astra having been disqualified form driving. There were children in the car at the time.
Edwards, of the town’s Shelley Crescent, originally didn’t plead guilty to his charges, which included driving while disqualified and driving without insurance, but changed his pleas to guilty on June 18.
On that date, at Cardiff Magistrates Court, Edwards, 32, was sentenced to six weeks in prison suspended for 18 months.
The reason for the prison sentence order was the fact there were children on the car at the time of the incident and Edwards’ previous convictions.
His sentence was suspended due to magistrates’ view there was a real prospect of rehabilitation.
Edwards was also banned from driving for 12 months.
He’ll pay £500 surcharge and £154 costs.
