POLICE are investigating an incident of shoplifting and an assault on Home Bargains staff in Barry.
A video on social media which has been doing the rounds shows two girls stood at the entrance to the Home Bargains on Palmerston Road arguing with one male and one female staff member.
Suddenly, one of the girls pushes the female staff member and the male staff member intervenes.
He steps back but intervenes again when one of the girls pushes the other girl into the female staff member, causing the male staff member to intervene again.
Pushing and shoving ensues before one for the girls rips off the male staff member’s head set and throws it at him before the two girls walk off.
South Wales Police confirmed they are investigating an incident at the store, saying: “We continue to investigate an incident of shoplifting and an assault at the Home Bargains, Palmerston Road in Barry, at around 6pm on Tuesday, May 28.”
