A 60-YEAR-old man was taken to hospital after being found 'in distress' on a bridge on the A4232.
At just before 9am this morning, May 15, South Wales Police warned motorists using the busy A-road a serious incident had taken place.
The road was closed in both directions for over an hour as emergency services attended the scene.
At the time, South Wales Police described it as a 'serious incident', with the road closed from the M4 Junction 33 Cardiff West southbound to Culverhouse Cross.
Northbound, Leckwith junction was closed.
The road was eventually reopened at 10.10am.

A South Wales Police spokesperson said the man has now been taken to hospital.
“South Wales Police were called at 8.30am to Culverhouse Cross, following a report of a man in distress on a bridge over the A4232.
"The link road was closed in both directions for an hour, a 60-year-old man has been taken to University Hospital of Wales and the road is now open.”
