A DRIVING ban has been handed to a Wetheral woman after she admitted driving while just over twice the legal limit for alcohol.
Josephine Garbarino-Danson, 27, committed the offence on April 6 as she drove a VW Golf at Field View on the road linking Wiggonby and Great Orton, Carlisle’s Rickergate court heard. At the time, she had 73mcg of alcohol in every 100mls of breath.
The legal limit for driving is 35mcg.
After hearing the details, magistrates imposed a 20 month ban and told the defendant, whose address was given as Faustin Hill, Wetheral, to pay a fine of £120, costs of £85 and a £48 victim surcharge.
The defendant, who was legally represented, was offered the drink driver rehabilitation course which, if completed by a deadline, will reduce her ban by 20 weeks.
