TRADING Standards and Immigration Enforcement conducted checks yesterday, including at a popular car wash in Barry.

There can't be many people in and around Barry who haven't had their car washed and waxed at the Cardiff Road car wash next to Greggs and just down the road from McDonald's.

However, eagle-eyed members of the public noticed that yesterday, March 19, cars were parked up in the car wash and they weren't the type to order a full valet.

At around 11am, a police vehicle was seen parked up in the car wash with officers speaking to employees of the business.

South Wales Police has now confirmed it, along with partners Trading Standards and Immigration Enforcement were conducting checks at a number of businesses in Barry and Cardiff.

"There were no arrests, and the local community is thanked for its cooperation."
