A school in Cowbridge has received an 'excellent' report from Estyn after the latest inspection.
Y Bont Faen gained high ratings in five evaluation areas: Learning; Well-being and attitudes to learning; Teaching and learning experiences; Care, support and guidance; and Leadership and management.
After impressed inspectors witnessed the school's approach to boosting creativity amongst its learners, they encouraged the school to provide a case study of their successful strategies.
The report explains that pupils "benefit greatly from the school’s effective approach to developing thinking skills, allowing them to make decisions, organise their learning and contribute effectively to the curriculum."
Headteacher Julia Adams said: "I am delighted that the work of our staff and pupils has been recognised by the Estyn inspection board."
Regarding pupil wellbeing and attitudes towards learning, the document declared: "Staff create warm and nurturing working relationships with pupils.
"As a result, all pupils feel happy and valued."
Inspectors found that across teaching and learning experiences, "All teachers have high expectations of their pupils."
The report said the positive relationships "contribute to the school’s purposeful, busy, and motivating ethos."
Vale of Glamorgan cabinet member for education, arts, and the Welsh language, Cllr Rhiannon Birch, said: "Y Bont Faen has received an incredible inspection report, and the school deserves credit for such an amazing achievement."
