FORMER Miss Wales 2022 Darcey Corria says she’s finally “living the dream again” as she takes part in Miss World having recovered from the injuries of a serious car crash.
The beauty queen from Barry is currently in India looking to bring the Miss World crown back to the UK.
Ms Corria has overcome huge adversity to continue her beauty career after suffering terrible injuries in a crash in Bridgend in January 2022.
Ms Corria suffered a broken pelvis and two broken bones in her neck and was treated at the University Hospital of Wales.
Now, the 22-year-old is back on the catwalk dressed to impress and says she is “filled with pride” coming back from such a difficult journey.
In her latest update from India, where she is staying at the luxurious Ashok Hotel, Ms Corria, who hasn’t sung in years was overcome with emotion having made it to the ‘talent final’.
She said: “This was a huge achievement for me.
“This whole experience has been so beautiful, and I’ve filled up with emotion multiple times because I’m finally living the dream after such a difficult journey.
“I am filled with pride.”
Ms Corria is a black rights activist and became the first woman of colour in the pageant’s 70-year history to be crowned Miss Wales.
This year's Miss World winner will be announced on March 9.
