"EVERYONE who met him loved him" - that's the tribute from the family of a man who was found dead in a river.

Kyle Vernon, 37, was found on Saturday morning in December in the Ogwr Fawr River close to Cemetery Road in Ogmore Vale.

Mr Vernon's death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Officers are investigating the sudden death of 37-year-old Kyle Vernon who was found just before 8am on Saturday, December 16, in the Ogwr Fawr River close to Cemetery Road in Ogmore Vale.

"Kyle’s death is not being treated as suspicious, however detectives are trying to piece together his last known movements.

"He was last seen wearing a burgundy zip up hoody, a cream t-shirt, and grey joggers." 

Kyle’s family have said that Kyle was a “loving son, father, brother, partner, and grandson who was well-liked and a very caring person.  

"Everyone who met him loved him.”

Detective Constable Nia Palla added: “Our condolences are with Kyle's loved ones, his friends and family and our thoughts remain with them."

A spokesperson for SWP, added: "We are appealing for information to help us trace Kyle’s last movements.  

"We would like to hear from anyone who saw or spoke with Kyle between 8pm on Friday, December 15, 2023 and 8am on Saturday, December 16, to contact us quoting occurrence 2300426636."
