IMPROVEMENT works are under way at the Parish and Lee Hall in Dinas Powys to improve the building for the community.

The hall managed by Dinas Powys Community Council has been undergoing some improvements.

Inside the floor required remedial action in one section due to subsidence - the whole floor has been sanded and varnished.

An external drive has been surfaced to avoid debris behind wheeled-in when heavy staying is being erected.

The community council is seeking financial support for other works that need to be done, including replacing the deteriorated curtains and various re-painting options are being examined.

The Old Library used by the theatre and musical groups as changing rooms for shows also needs to be brought up to standard.

Cllr John Fanshaw, chairman of the Halls Committee, said: “The community council is seeking financial support for some of this work.

“The halls are a wonderful asset to the community and must be maintained properly.”
