A PERSON was taken to hospital following a crash on the A4232 near Llandough on Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving a motorcyclist on the southbound carriageway between Leckwith and Culverhouse Cross.

The motorcyclist was taken to the University Hospital of Wales for further treatment where his injuries are being treated as non-life-threatening.

The road re-opened at 11.30am following heavy congestion in the area following the crash.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “We were called to the scene of a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on the southbound carriageway of the A4232 between Culverhouse Cross and Leckwith at around 9am yesterday morning.

“The motorcyclist's injuries are neither life-threatening nor life-changing. The road reopened at around 11.30am.”

A Welsh Ambulance spokesperson added: “We were called yesterday at 8.51am, to reports of a road traffic collision on the A4232 near Llandough.

“We sent one emergency ambulance and one Cymru high acuity response unit to the scene.

“We conveyed one person to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff for further treatment.”  

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were also approached for comment.
