THE Barry Coastguard is urging parents to keep an eye on their children when visiting the beach after several children went missing at the weekend.
Crowds flocked to Whitmore Bay on Saturday, September 9 to enjoy the warm weather.
Crews were tasked with an extremely busy evening after a child was reported missing in the afternoon.
Along with colleagues at South Wales Police, the child was found safe and well before several other children were reported missing on the beach.
The Barry Coastguard later reported that all the youngsters were found safe and well.
A Spokesperson for the Barry Coastguard said: “Several children were reported missing at the beach but were later found safe and well.
“We are urging the public to always keep children in sight, take a picture of them so you can show us exactly what they look like and what they are wearing.
“Respect the water and call 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
