POUNDLAND is opening their biggest store in Wales right on the doorstep of the Vale.

Opening this weekend, Poundland has described the new superstore as a “destination store”, with everything you could think of buying for a pound.

The store will offer a wide range of clothing, food, drinks and even frozen food.

At around 20,000 square feet, the store is located at Valegate Retail Park, Copthorne Way, and will open on Saturday, September 9, 8am.

A spokesperson for Poundland said: “The store will offer the widest range of Pep clothing found in any Poundland store right across the UK as well as changing rooms to make buying an outfit easy.

“The store will also have a full range of chilled and frozen food so customers can do more of their weekly shop in-store.”

The new Cardiff store is what Poundland calls a "destination" store designed for maximum convenience and to allow customers to do more of their shopping in a single trip.

The site was previously occupied by Football Fiesta, an indoor Football Fan Park experience, which is now based at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Poundland director of retail, Darren Kay, said the store will be an example of what Poundland can really offer.

“We are excited to be opening our biggest ever Welsh Poundland and we know from talking to shoppers that they are looking forward to the opening.

“We’re working hard to make sure Cardiff Valegate will be a cracking example of the breadth of what we can offer in a popular location.

“And just like all our stores, it will offer amazing value to customers looking to make their money go further.”
