TWO people were rescued from Jackson’s Bay on Tuesday afternoon after becoming stranded on rocks.

A crew from Barry RNLI spotted two paddleboarders stranded on the rocks of Jackson’s Bay breakwater.

Lifeboat Frances Mary Corscaden and her volunteer crew were caught out by the changing tide when they spotted the people in distress.

The crew along with colleagues at the National Coastwatch institution at Neil’s point rescued the two paddleboarders who had tucked themselves into the rocks.

The two paddleboarders were taken back to safety at Jackson’s Bay and safety advice was given to both people who were rescued.

A spokesperson for Barry Dock RNLI said all crews made sure everyone was safe.

A spokesperson for Barry Dock RNLI said: “Our RNLI D class crew located them, and our crew made sure both were safe and well, bringing the paddleboarders onboard our D Class and returning them to Jackson's Bay with safety advice given.

“Our volunteer crew returned back to Barry Dock RNLI to refuel and washdown our inshore lifeboat to be made ready for service again.”
