ROMANCE never dies, especially on this occasion when a care home organised an extra special wedding anniversary.

In what was a truly heartwarming scene, Bill Knowles and his wife Maureen went one better than platinum, celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary.

In romantic photos, Mr Knowles showed you’re never too old to dress to impress for the love of your life as he donned a suit and tie, with a rose in the lapel to remind wife Maureen just how dapper he is.

Mr Knowles, 94, met Maureen at a dance party and married in 1952. They have three sons and a daughter.
