COLDBROOK Road East was notorious for another reason last night.

The road is currently plagued by the excruciating sound of drilling as Vale of Glamorgan Council stumbles its way through the development of apartments on land the authority has admitted it didn’t expect would be so hard….

But last night it wasn’t the drilling – which can run Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm – that disrupted the residents - it was a crash, as a Fiat smashed into the central reservation.

Photos taken by concerned resident Natalie Jayne show bedlam, with a car stuck in the middle of the road and fire crews trying to rescue it.

Ms Jayne said “avoid Coldbrook Raod, AGAIN” as she informed fellow residents on Facebook.

Police and the fire service were both called to the scene - but thankfully no one was seriously hurt.
