BARRY will be full of festive family fun next week.

The Barry Christmas Festival will take place between Friday, December 2, and Sunday, December 18, a range of activities have been planned following the success of last year.

The popular Christmas Post Office will take place at Barry Library which features storytelling, letter writing, elves and more - this will take place from Friday, December 2, to Sunday, December 11.

Back will be The Festival of Light which will also take place between December 2 and December 11 in Central Park, Barry. Tickets are £1.50 per family plus booking fee per party.

Nia Hollins, principal tourism and marketing officer at Vale of Glamorgan Council said: “We are delighted to be organising the Barry Christmas Festival this year.

“There is something for everyone to enjoy, Tickets for the Christmas Post Office and Festival of Light are selling fast so you need to act fast if you would like to attend.

“We hope the festival's events will bring festive joy to Barry, and in driving footfall into the town centre. We hope to give our traders a much-needed boost too.”

An Elf Trail around traders in Barry will take place between December 2 and December 8, Elf stickers can be found the shops on the trail to be in with a chance of winning £100 at an independent trader of your choice.

A Christmas Market, featuring local traders and vendors, will take place in King’s Square Barry between December 2 to December 11 between midday and 8pm every day.

Top to off the events taking place, as part of the Festival Barry Town Councils annual 2K Santa Fun Run is back for 2022 and will take place on December 11th at Barry Island.
