A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

CONNOR ALLEN, 22, of Borough Avenue, Barry, was ordered to pay £164 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 39mph in a 30mph zone on Merthyr Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff, on January 21.

RACHEL BERYL WOOD, 43, of Treharne Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £250 in compensation and a fine after she pleaded guilty to stealing Olay cosmetics from Boots on Holton Road on May 25.

MICHAEL KEVIN MURPHY, 40, of Treharne Road, Barry, was conditionally discharged for six months after he admitted stealing meat from Tesco on Barry Road on June 12.

He was ordered to pay a £22 surcharge.

FAY DAWN VOWLES, 46, of Laleston Close, Barry, was ordered to pay £344 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 37mph in a 30mph zone on Skomer Road on February 21.

RHYS ANDREWS, 25, of Cae Brewis, Boverton, Llantwit Major, was ordered to pay £185 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Rhoose on January 22.

DONNA HANNAH, 67, of Glamorgan Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £247 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 48mph in a 30mph zone on the B4622 in Bridgend on February 20.

Her driving record was endorsed with six points.

ALISON SMITH, 48, of Maes Yr Ysgol, Barry, was fined £40 after she admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order.

DEAN CAVEILL, 32, of Barry Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £224 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 40mph in a 30mph zone on Cowbridge Road West, Cardiff, on December 17, 2021.
