A FREE festival celebrating art and love is being hosted in Barry this September.

Art4U – a voluntary organisation which aims to share art with the community for free – will hold The Friendship Tree Festival from midday on Sunday, September 18.

The festival, which will be held at Victoria Park in Cadoxton, will be packed with musicians, dancers, artists, and some surprise guests.

The festival was first launched in May 2010 and celebrates community, peace, love, friendship, and nature.

Musicians lined up to perform The Friendship Tree Festival on September 18 include:

  • Sing with Us (Tenovus) Choir;
  • Osian Salter (star of West End Musical The Osmonds);
  • Rising country music star Caitlin Mae;
  • Steve David;
  • Betty J. Williams;
  • Hank Hillman;
  • Me and Him;
  • Ben Dain-Smith;
  • Desi Beats Bollywood dancer Stephanie Gawne and her dancers;
  • Andy Johnson;
  • The Porthkerry Community Choir.

Barry And District News:

More acts will be announced in the lead-up to The Friendship Tree Festival, and some performers for the free festival may be subject to change.

There will also be a variety of arts and craft makers and workshops at the festival.

Artist Glyn Pooley, of Art4U, said:

“We welcome all members of the public to come and enjoy music, art, dance, peace, and friendship in a beautiful natural setting.

“Bring a picnic, blanket, and a smile! The event will go ahead whatever the weather!”

Entry to The Friendship Tree Festival at Victoria Park is free, but donations towards the not-for-profit organisation Art4U are welcome.
