A DOUGHNUT shop offering "rings of pure unadultered joy" is coming to Barry.
WhoCult Coffee + Donuts is setting up shop at the Goodsheds, on Hood Road in Barry, and will be open seven days a week serving doughnuts, coffees and shakes.
The business already has a venue in Bridgend, which opened in 2019, and has proven popular.
Offering “rings of pure unadulterated joy” every doughnut is made from scratch using the “finest ingredients” and is hand cut with precision before being decorated.
WhoCult Coffee + Donuts also offers a “banging” cup of coffee, according to their website, but what have the reviewers said?
We looked at how the Bridgend business fared on TripAdvisor; it is rated 4.5 out of five (at the time of this article’s publication) and rated #4 place for quick bites in Bridgend.
A recent reviewer said it has the “dopest coffee in Wales” adding: “We were flagging on a family holiday in Wales and craving some proper barista coffee. This place did not fail to deliver.”
She praised the “creative” branding and menu along with the “really friendly” staff.
Another praised the coffee and “incredible” doughnuts, with vegan and dairy free options available.
Other visitors have praised the “chilled vibe” with one guest describing the doughnuts as “very tasty, light and fluffy and not the slightest bit greasy.”
Although most of the reviews are positive, two people were more critical of the doughnuts, rating the venue as two out of five.
Someone claiming to have visited in April 2021 suggested that the doughnuts “taste a bit like they are from the day before” and claimed their coffee was “bitter”.
Another – who reports visiting in May 2021 – does not believe that their doughnuts were fresh, describing them as “bland” and suggesting it was a “hit and miss” experience.
But all of the TripAdvisor reviews since then have beenpositive, rating Whocult Coffee + Donuts in Bridgend as five out of five.
Soon the people of Barry – and those visiting – will be able to find out what they think of WhoCult Coffee + Donuts when it opens at The Goodsheds.
While an exact opening date has yet to be confirmed it will open in the next few weeks.
