A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

JOSHUA TONG KROLL, 25, of Holton Road, Barry, was banned from driving for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cocaine derivative in his blood on Western Avenue, Cardiff, on December 23, 2021.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

JOSEPH FALCON, 35, of Subway Road, Barry, was banned from driving for 12 months for driving without insurance and driving without a licence on Hayes Road on April 4.

He was ordered to pay £1,058 in fines, costs and a surcharge.

DANIEL MICHAEL ARTHUR STANTON, 31, of White Farm, Barry, was banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance on Heol-Y-Felin, Ely, Cardiff, on April 3.

He was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

STUART SUTTON, 45, of Barry Road, Barry, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he admitted having a bladed article in public and using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour with intent to cause fear of / provoke unlawful violence on Commercial Road on January 26.

He was ordered to complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £260 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

KIRKUS MALCOLM NICHOLLS, 38, of Williams Crescent, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

STEVEN MARTIN LAVERY, 39, of Pant Y Celyn Place, St Athan, was ordered to pay £530 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on Cowbridge Road, Bridgend, on May 10.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

BARRY JOSEPH PICKUP, 46, of Aberaeron Close, Barry, was sentenced to a community order after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer and assault by beating on April 20.

He was made the subject of an alcohol treatment requirement, ordered to complete a 12-day rehabilitation activity requirement and must pay £435 in a fine, costs, compensation and a surcharge.

CALLUM PALMER, 32, of Aberaeron Close, Barry, was ordered to pay £244 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on Port Road, Wenvoe, on April 15.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.
